Four connected areas
Environmental waste
Tracking through invoice data rolled up into dashboards.
Inspections
Regular site inspections paired with training and end-user alerts.
Asset maintenance
Tracking for high-dollar assets like forklifts and vehicles.
Documentation
Centralized management through linked SharePoint/Microsoft Teams channels.
Environmental waste data capture
Waste data is captured by reviewing individual invoices, with the details entered into Smartsheet. That gives a granular, source-level record of waste generation and disposal rather than relying on estimates or periodic summaries.
Those invoice entries roll up into a dashboard, giving stakeholders:
- A consolidated view of waste volumes and costs across sites
- Trends over time, drawn from actual invoice-level data rather than manual aggregation
- A single place to review environmental waste activity without pulling invoices individually
Because the dashboard is built directly from reviewed invoice data, it reflects what was actually billed and processed, keeping compliance reporting grounded in verifiable source documents.
Inspections, training & alerts
Mitti is used to conduct regular inspections across sites. Each inspection serves three connected purposes:
- 1Data collectionCapturing inspection findings and site conditions in a consistent, repeatable format.
- 2TrainingProviding training to end users, tied to what inspections reveal about site needs.
- 3AlertsNotifying end users of necessary corrective actions arising from inspection findings.
Running inspections on a regular cadence and feeding the results directly into training and alerting closes the loop between identifying a hazard or gap and getting the right information, or the right corrective action, to the people who need it.
Asset maintenance tracking
The Asset Module tracks and records maintenance for high-dollar items, such as forklifts and vehicles, assigned to a regional shop. Rather than maintenance history living in separate paper logs or per-location spreadsheets, each asset’s service record is captured in one place and tied to that specific piece of equipment.
- A maintenance history per asset, visible wherever the asset is assigned
- Accountability for high-value equipment at the regional-shop level
- Easier identification of assets due for service, without relying on a shop’s local tracking method
Documentation management
All reports, invoices, and documentation for each site are managed through a linked SharePoint/Microsoft Teams channel, giving every site a consistent, central home for its records instead of scattered local drives and individual inboxes.
- Site documentation is accessible to the people already collaborating in that channel, with no separate login or system to check
- Reports and invoices stay organized by site, supporting the invoice review and dashboard rollup described above
- Version history and access control are handled by SharePoint, rather than by informal file-naming conventions
