Overview
The integration closes the gap between an incident being reported in the field and a properly reviewed claim reaching the TPA, reducing manual re-entry and the delay between report and filing.
Background
Before this integration, incident data captured in the field lived in Mitti and required manual handling to move into the systems that manage claims and third-party administration. That introduced delay and the risk of transcription error between the moment of report and the moment a claim is actually filed.
Three systems are involved:
- Mitti: where the incident is first reported (FNOI)
- Applications International System: the system of record that receives the FNOI data, holds it through HR review, and transmits the case onward
- TPA (Third-Party Administrator): the external party responsible for administering the claim, who receives the case only after it has passed through HR intervention
The integration automates the movement of data between these systems while preserving a required human checkpoint: HR review before anything reaches the TPA.
Incident data capture
When an incident occurs, it is reported directly in Mitti as the First Notice of Incident. The record is captured at its source, by the person closest to the event at or near the time it happened, rather than through a separate paper or email process filled in later.
The FNOI record typically includes:
- Date, time, and location of the incident
- Employee(s) involved
- Description of what occurred
- Any immediate injury or property-damage details
HR intervention & review
Before an incident record moves on to the TPA, it is held in the Applications International System pending HR review. This is a deliberate checkpoint, not a formality: HR verifies the record, adds any required internal context, and confirms the case is ready to be handled by an outside party.
HR’s review at this stage typically covers:
- Confirming the accuracy and completeness of the FNOI data
- Adding any HR-specific case notes or classifications
- Determining next steps, such as whether the case needs additional internal handling before external transmission
- Approving the record for release to the TPA
Transmission to the TPA
Once HR has reviewed and approved the case, the Applications International System sends the finalized incident data to the TPA. The TPA only ever receives cases that have already cleared internal review, which preserves a consistent, auditable handoff between the internal HR process and external claims administration.
